THE FUNERAL PARTY

​

I joined Oliva Drama towards the end of 2020, shortly after I moved to Spain. During the January to April 2021 lockdown period of the Covid-19 pandemic, I wrote a 25-minute play for the group. The first performance of "The Funeral Party" was in May 2021, with a cast of four, and was recorded as a radio play.

Synopsis: Four adults in their fifties - 3 siblings and a cousin - meet after many years apart, at the funeral of “Auntie E”. They grab food from the buffet and some drinks and sneak out to have a picnic in the garden.

To readers of a certain genre of children's books, their grown-up names might be semi-familiar.... Jules, Richie, Annie and Georgia.
